2021 Event FAQs
Last Updated - August 30th, 2021
Is the 2021 event in-person or virtual?
TEDxOronocoBayPark will be
in-person on October 2 from 1:00-5:00pm with a reception that follows for all attendees!
Do I have to attend the whole afternoon?
There will be two sessions of speaker talks with a break in between; during those sessions, doors will be closed to entry and exit so that our film crew can produce the best videos for our speakers.
While it’s not required that you attend the whole day, you will not be able to enter these sessions except at the beginning. You may stand in our simulcast area otherwise. Our speakers thank you!
When will tickets be available to purchase?
Tickets are now on sale! Click here to purchase your tickets now before they are sold out!
What if tickets sell-out; how can others participate?
Tickets are reserved for our sponsoring organizations as well as day-of volunteers. Please consider helping us put on the event in one of these ways – we can’t do it without you!
And remember that all the talks are filmed, edited, and shared on the TED.com website. Not only will they be available for watching – as often as you want! – but we also plan to highlight them through some TED Circles forums early in 2022 so that individuals from far and wide can participate in our Alexandria program!
What is the COVID Attendance Policy?
All attendees must provide proof of full vaccination against COVID-19. Attendees unable to be vaccinated against COVID-19 must provide proof of a negative test result for COVID-19 from PCR testing done within 72 hours prior to the event. Masks will be required for everyone when inside our event space except while actively eating or drinking.
Full vaccination means that 14 days have passed since receiving either the second dose of the Pfizer or Moderna vaccine or the single dose of the Johnson & Johnson vaccine. For proof of vaccination, patrons must bring a physical copy or digital photograph of their vaccination record.
Adjustments will be made based on changing conditions and communicated to our audience. The health and safety of our community is a top priority for our team, and we appreciate your understanding and patience.
What if things change?
We are all now very well versed in things evolving as new information arises. Our team is comfortable moving forward with an in-person event for the fall, yet we also have a back-up plan in place.
If things change or there are any updates, we will be emailing them to our
community, posting on the website, and sharing on
Facebook.
